Disneyland
For Spring Break this year Na and I took the three kids to Disneyland. It is the time of year we always go because it never seems to be horribly crowded. Definitely NOT the case this year. Talk about a place that is not recession proof, that would be Disney. We started with a leisurely 8 hour drive over to Anaheim (should only take approximately 6 hours). With three kids there are many stops. Dilan gets car sick so this time around I gave him Dramamine which worked great. It knocked him out for half the car ride and he never got sick, yeah! We checked into the Anabella Hotel to only have a room that wreaked of varnish so my Mom called down to the front desk and they had to come move us to another room that had not recently been remodeled. That room ended up being very nice. The next morning we got up bright and early and ready to open the park. We parked and got the girls in the stroller and ready set, stop. The stroller wouldn't move. Dilan had set the break trying to be nice not knowing it was broken and it took so much force to get it back. I did not have that force. So we had to carry all our bags and the kids to the tram and rent two strollers at the park which is not cheap. I guess it was nice in the end because my mom and I each pushed a much lighter weight stroller. While standing in line to rent the strollers Addie got all worked up and started coughing which led to throwing up on me, her and in my hands. What a lovely way to start the day. Once settled down we hit our first ride, The Jungle Cruise, which scared Haylee so she was quite the little handful till about 3 pm when Na said, Finally, Stella has got her groove back!" We did tons of stuff both at Disney and California Adventure. Haylee was able to go on a lot more since she hit the 40" mark (with shoes on). She even went on The Matterhorn and Space Mountain which she screamed bloody murder on. By 9:45 the Na had injured her knee and couldn't really walk so me being the wonderful daughter I am parked her at a restaurant to rest while I took the three kids on the Nemo ride. While I thought this was a nice gesture it was not. Looking back we should have just gone back to the hotel. Somehow, the Na made a remarkable 80% recovery and was able to continue the next day, not sure how knowing how much pain she was in. We didn't do as many rides the next day because it was so crowded. I am happy to say that I got Dilan, the child who refuses to go on roller coasters, to go on The Matterhorn and Big Thunder. He LOVED them too. Na took him on Indiana Jones which he liked but got a bit queasy on. In all, we had a great time and we are already planning our next trip. This time I am just taking Dilan out of school so we hopefully don't hit massive amounts of people again. Thanks Mom for so much fun!
