Rockband

Santa brought Dilan Rockband for the Wii and it is sooooo cool. He is having a hard time doing it because of the broken arm so mommy took advantage of it!  I played seven drum solos which has caused my first Rockband injury, a nasty blood blister on my hand!  Rock on :) Oh, and my band Bikini Surprise signed with a label!

Christmas Morning

Dilan woke-up at 8:00 and came in to our room to wait for Haylee to get up.  She is normally the first one up but she had a sleep over at Grannie Annie's on Tuesday night and was tired so she slept until 9:00 this morning.  Poor Dilan had to just lay there waiting.  I decided to wake-up Addie because she'll sleep forever.  Dilan wanted Rockband for the Wii, Haylee asked Santa for a TV and DVD player and Addie really didn't care.  Dilan and Haylee got what they asked fr and Addie got a ball popper that she seems to love.  We had a great breakfast with eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls and bagels from Hot Bagels an Deli (can't believe they were open this morning).

Christmas Eve

We had our annual Christmas Eve celebration at Na and Appa's last night.  We had so much fun. My mom cooked a white chicken lasagna that is absolutely wonderful.  We then opened our gifts.  Dilan got an iPod shuffle that he wanted really bad.  On the top of Haylee's list was the Little Mommy doll that sits on the potty and brushes her teeth.  Addie got her very on dolly stroller that she is thrilled with.  Andre was thrilled with shorts that ad pockets and I got my Jillian Michaels Wii game and Biggest Loser cookbook.  We had a great night and didn't even leave until after 10:00.  This was due to Santa making his way towards our hours via the NORAD tracker.

White Elephant Gift Exchange

On Monday night we had our white elephant gift exchange.  It was a lot of fun although we missed our cousins Jen and Bruce.  They were stuck in the snowy weather in Seattle :(  I ended up with a great little Bissell sweeper which will come on so handy with all the food that ends up on the floor with the kids.

Dilan Gets His Cast

Dilan got his cast today.  He went in thinking he was going to pick blue but when it came down to it he chose orange.  Luckily I was able to drop the girls off with my friend Tara (THANK YOU!!!) because on the way to the office Dilan got carsick all over his clothes and I had to make a pit stop at Target to buy some new jeans, shirt and a towel.  We were ten minutes late to the appointment because the Target lines were crazy long.  After the cast was put on we were sent to get another X-Ray were we found that one of his bones had slipped significantly but not to worry they said. He goes back on January 7th to have it re-xrayed (is that a word).  At that time he may have to keep his full arm cast or he may get a short arm cast.  We shall see.

Making Cookies with the Fam

Last night we decided to make cookies as a family.  We decided on the Greek butter cookie called Koulourakia (thank Grannie Annie), ritz with peanut butter in the middle dipped in chocolate (thanks Natalie)and candied cranberries (thanks Natalie).  I decided to finally use my KitchenAid Stand Mixer after about 7 years of owning it (thanks mom).  I think I have been intimidated by it but I loved it.  With the Koulourakia cookies you have to mix the butter for 15 minutes and who wants to do that with a hand mixer, not me.  Go KitchenAid!  Those cookies turned out yummy.  I did the prep work (mostly the mixer) and Andre rolled them into the cookies.  The kids got to do their own special ones too.  Then on to the candied cranberries.  I obviously need to have Natalie show me how to do these because mine are NOT good where as Natalie's you could eat all day.  Next came the ritz.  Andre and I prepped and then he dipped.  We had so much fun.  We now have a bunch to take to Na's tonight for our white elephant gift exchange with the fam.  WE also will have plenty of cookies to leave out for Santa.

Christmas Lights

Saturday night we went on the hunt for Christmas Lights.  I went to azcentral and pulled up their list of lights that people submit.  We found three right near the house.  We went to one that we found last year that the kids love.  Santa is in the window so they think it is his house. We found a new one this year that you drive back onto their property.  It was really neat and the kids just loved it.  Addie is really into all the lights this year.  Lots of pointing and smiling :)

Gingerbread House

On Friday morning, Dilan wanted to go say goodbye to Mr. Pierce for the holidays.  Since Dilan missed the party, Mr. Pierce gave him all the goodies to make his Gingerbread House at home.  I helped frost it with Dilan and he put everything on.  He did really good considering all the pain he was in.  It really took his mind off of everything.
